First International Business Development Forum
On September 20, 2013, the First International Business Development Forum was opened at Expo Georgia Exhibition Center, supported by USAID-CAUCASUS, EPI, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and GSMEA. The auditing company Financial Office presented its innovative products and approaches in the consulting sector in exhibition format. The business support portal Business Navigator was also presented, and a summary of the period was conducted. The First International Business Development Forum was attended by banks, investment, donor, international and microfinance organizations, as well as business consulting companies.
Revenue Service Coordination Council
By order #9887 of the Head of the Revenue Service, Lasha Khutsishvili, a Coordination Council has been established within the Revenue Service, which includes Mikheil Chelidze, Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises Association and Auditor of the Financial Office. The Council was created to establish a unified approach to interpreting certain norms of Georgian tax legislation. As you are aware, the Revenue Service operates with situational guidelines (so-called manuals). The main purpose of the Coordination Council’s working meetings will be to develop/revise these guidelines and implement them in Georgian tax legislation. The Council’s work involves employees from both the Revenue Service and the Ministry of Finance, as well as representatives from the private sector (tax experts). Business Navigator – Small and Medium Business Support Portal
The audit company Financial Office has introduced its unique product Business Navigator, whose main purpose is to support small and medium businesses. Tax Committee Presentation
A Tax Committee has been established at the Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises Association, which will be headed by Mikheil Chelidze, an auditor representing the Financial Office audit company and a member of the Association’s Supervisory Board. The Tax Committee presentation was held at the Radisson Hotel, attended by Revenue Service Chief Lasha Khutsishvili, Chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association Kakha Kokhreidze, among other guests. The presentation introduced the Tax Committee’s main objectives to the business community, which include studying gaps and inaccuracies in tax legislation and preparing recommendations for refining and adapting tax legislation. The Tax Committee’s work will involve private sector tax specialists, whose comments and initiatives will be regularly reviewed with the relevant structural units of the Ministry of Finance for subsequent legislative initiation.
Financial Office to Protect the Interests of Small and Medium Businesses
The Financial Office became a member of the Supervisory Board of the Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises Association on October 12, 2012. Auditor Mikheil Chelidze will represent the Finance Office on the Supervisory Board. Our efforts in this position will be directed towards preparing and initiating initiatives and legislative projects on adapted norms and rules of tax legislation for small and medium-sized businesses. An Agreement Has been Reached with Finas Company Regarding Accounting Software Provision
An agreement has been reached between Finas company and Financial Office regarding long-term cooperation in partnership mode, which includes, on one hand, the implementation of Finas software in Financial Office’s own accounting system, and on the other hand, periodic software audits and consultations in compliance with legislative requirements on software innovation implementation issues.
